An Ofqual Recognised Awarding Organisation

QUALIFI Partner National Day Nurseries Association

National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) Accredited by QUALIFI

Qualifi has independently assessed and internationally accredited the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) and their new programme, an Introduction to Child Protection.  As a UK awarding organisation regulated by the government bodies of Ofqual, Qualifi can accredit quality institutions, programmes and award certifications that demonstrate attainment, skills, knowledge and understanding.

Level 2 Introduction to Child Protection

The course will allow learners to understand how to keep children safe with this Qualifi accredited Level 2 Introduction to Child Protection award.

What will I learn?

This Level 2 safeguarding and child protection online course will give the learner extra reassurance that they are providing high-quality safeguarding measures and meeting all EYFS requirements.

The course has been through Qualifi’s approval process and the certificate could be accepted more widely if learners are studying an early years Level 2 qualification.

This course provides learners with the statutory training required under the EYFS in child protection and safeguarding. It may also count towards studying for Level 2 Children and Young People or Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications*.

NDNA recommend that learners should present the certificate after completion to training providers for this to be accepted as part of a wider programme of study. The accreditation is also valuable evidence of commitment to high standards at an Ofsted inspection.

There is a final assessment in the form of an interactive test requiring an 80% pass mark to achieve the award. If learners  fail to achieve this mark they can revisit the training and retake the assessment.

Course key topics:

• Legislation relating to safeguarding children
• Recognising the signs of abuse and what to do next
• Types of child abuse
• Emotional and sexual abuse and neglect
• How to report concerns
• Prevent Duty and Female Genital Mutiltilation (FGM).

Practitioners wishing to progress further can take NDNA’s Advanced Safeguarding (ASG) course. Anyone completing the ASG course will receive termly safeguarding newsletters supporting Ofsted requirements that staff must receive annual safeguarding updates.

* If learners are unsure if this course can contribute to their level 2 Children and Young People or level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications, they should check with their learning provider.
