Sameera has been working in the audit and finance field over a decade holding various positions, she started her career as an Auditor for KPMG Ford Rhodes Thornton & Co, Planning, conducting and finalisation of audits of financial statements of organisations operating in different industries including manufacturing, construction, real estate, trading, hospitality, stock brokering, garments, banking & finance, and nongovernmental organisations ensuring related legal and other regulated compliances as an integral part of the audit.

She stepped in to commercial sector after completion of her, BSc Accounting (Special) Degree with University of Sri Jayewardenepura and worked as a Senior Executive finance for Hayleys PLC, a well-known conglomerate in Sri Lanka and her most recent employment was with London School of Marketing (LSM) as Head Of Finance, she has contributed in smooth transition of finance function from LSM-UK office to Sri Lankan off Shore operation and ensured effective execution of finance function of the company over two years .Further she liaised effectively with universities such as Anglia Ruskin university , University of Northampton and awarding organisations like Qualifi and EduQual during her tenure at LSM. She also actively contributed the implementation of SAP, SAGE 200, Concur and Xero finance tools during her career.

She is an Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and currently reading at the final level for the Associate membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
