Global Cyber Academy (GCA) is the UK’s first dedicated cyber education academy for business communities. At a sector awareness launch in Parliament on 13th June, GCA brought together stakeholders, interested parties, business students and some 80 major UK employers. Serving on the Advisory Council are some of the UK’s most eminent tech and security firms, organisations and Universities. GCA also run an industry network with free workshops and networking for students and businesses.
The mission of GCA in collaboration with Qualifi Awarding Organisation is to provide engaging, accessible, flexible courses that lead to accredited and Ofqual regulated qualifications for at-work adults, those seeking a career change and learners who are ambitious to become employed in ICT. The blended and distance learning Online courses and associated qualifications include a short SOS intro and Regulated Qualification Framework Cyber Security qualifications at Level 2, 3,4 and 5. Courses are delivered only by accredited tutors who also have practical senior level work experience in cyber and information security roles.
GCA’s mission is two-fold:

- To provide mass-scale, flexible, accessible, understandable, certificated learning programmes. This is both to address poor cyber resilience practices across all sizes of business as well as a growing critical skills gap (51%) identified by CISO and CIOs; identified and reflected on within the Governments National Cyber Security Strategy Policy Paper – https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-cyber-security-strategy-2016-to-2021
- To provide an underpinning ethical framework that nurtures and reinforces positive and pro-active approaches to digital citizenship
